Who can use the LIC?
The LIC is accessible for ULB- and VUB students and staff, who have access to the building with the Roamer X app. Visitors from outside the ULB and VUB communities are also welcome, they can request a visitor pass at the Infodesk in the LIC. Please note that:
- External visitors cannot make reservations.
- Due to high demand during the exam periods, the LIC will be exclusively accessible for the VUB and ULB communities from 1 August to 5 September.
Which app do I need to use for access and reservations in the LIC?
Make sure you download the correct version: Roamer X (not Roamer).
Both apps are available in the App Store and Google Play, but only Roamer X works with the LIC.
Why can’t I pass through the speedgates? The app says no credentials registered?
This usually means your Security Pass hasn’t been activated yet. Please ensure the following:
- You selected Building LIC in the app.
- Your Security Pass is enabled via:
User Preferences → Security Pass.
Note: It may take up to 5 minutes for your credentials to be retrieved from the server after enabling the pass.
Why does the app not load properly or show a blank screen?
This can happen due to a known bug related to the security refresh token. To fix it:
- Go to User Preferences → Logging & Diagnostics
- Scroll to the bottom and select Clear Cache
- Fully close the app
Reopen the app and log in again
What settings are required for the app to work correctly?
Make sure both Bluetooth and Location Services are always enabled on your device.
On iPhone and Android, go to:
Settings → Apps → Roamer X
Then enable location and Bluetooth permissions.
These settings are required for authentication and access to the building.
I get redirected to the Microsoft Authenticator, but after login the app returns to the home screen and nothing happens. What should I do?
This can happen when the sign-in token is not correctly returned to the app. Try the following steps:
- Make sure you do not close the app during login.
- After being redirected to Microsoft Authenticator, approve the login and wait to be redirected back.
- If you’re stuck on the home screen:
- Go to User Preferences → Logging & Diagnostics → Clear Cache
- Close the app completely
- Reopen it and log in again
If the problem persists:
- Try reinstalling the app
- Make sure your default browser is up to date (Chrome or Safari)
- Ensure popups and cross-app communication are allowed on your device
